Group Advertisement Project
Final Advertisement
I worked with Kate Starke on the Advertisement Project. For this project, we had to create an ad for a local business. We were required to use at least one photograph and change the business current logo.
The most difficult of this project for me was coming up with a new logo design after changing the business we chose. I scraped a lot of my initial ideas, but I came up with more after getting Kate's Procreate design.
Kate caught the flu halfway through the project and while it was more difficult to collaborate, we still communicated with each other on our progress.
This final project allowed me to apply the skills I have learned throughout the quarter. I had to consider elements and principles of art to create an eye-catching ad. I also got the opportunity to work with Kate; improving my collaboration and communication skills.
Materials used: sketchbook, pencil, phone (photographs)
Programs used: Adobe Illustrator, Procreate
Procreate Draft
Kate created the layout for the design in the drawing app Procreate. She sent it to me and I traced over it in Adobe to make it a vector image. I had a few of my own ideas and ran them by Kate before adding them in. One of my ideas was making the points of the croissant logo sharper so it resembled a moon. I also added red outlines of products inside the bubble shapes to create contrast.

The business we initially picked was Queen Anne's Coffee Co. But, plans changed when Kate walked there and discovered it was closed. Instead, she took photos of Moonrise Bakery, which was close by, leading us to change our business to Moonrise instead.
