Detailed Formal Analysis 

For this assignment. we found artwork on the National Gallery of Art and made thumbnail sketches of the piece, focusing on the use of the principles and elements of art.

A challenge that I ran into was making my sketches too detailed. It took up much more time and wasn't allowing me to look at the bigger picture since I was focused too much on the details.

For our formal analysis, we picked one of our sketches and did a detailed look into how principles and elements of art were applied. 

This assignment helped grow our understanding of how the principles and elements are used in masterpieces so we can integrate it into our own work.
