Welcome to Alamea Hill Art

About Me

Hi! I'm Alamea Hill, a current junior majoring in Visual Communications and Honors Liberal Arts at Seattle Pacific University.

I believe that art is essential in drawing us toward one another in empathy and love through illumination of what we can't (or choose not to) see. Each new creation lifts up the voice of the artist to join the conversation, uniting humanity in a way that transcends the walls that divide us.

Through my own artistic journey, I have opened my mind to new possibilities and perspectives as I strive to connect with the world around me in a meaningful and involved way.

Along with visual arts, I enjoy exploring films that are rich with poetry and images that move me to think beyond myself.

I am a passionate lover of the performing arts and I have been acting in theatre productions in community and school productions for five years.

Currently, I am the Editor-in-chief for SPU's Arts and Literary journal, Lingua, a publication that has existed at our school under different names since the 1960s. As editor, I run a team consisting of a student Illustrator and Designer, planning events on campus and promoting student submissions for the twice-yearly published Lingua journal.

Recently, I am served as the role of designer for the marketing team for the newly established Seattle Pacific University Theatre Company. Within the first month of joining the team, I created brochures and the poster for the club's first production: Little Women. In addition to designing, I participated in the show as an actor playing Amy March.

Previously, as an Inducted Washington State Thespian I innovated and created designs for Stargrams for my high school Drama Program.

Another major project was designing my newly established high school's mascot as a member of the Art Club.

I hope to be working on even more major art projects as I continue to gain more design skills at SPU!
